We were commissioned by Mercedes Benz to make a short promotional film as part of their latest ad campaign for the new X-Class pick-up truck. The campaign was promoted on large digital boards around the UK, in addition to within their own dealerships nationwide. The client requested two films - one of 15 seconds duration and one of 20 seconds.
We worked with the client to design the concept art and develop the idea. The film was shot in a studio with a track, dolly and full grip kit, utilising a complete black space in order to film the car at every angle. One of the challenges we had was the overhead shot. This was requested by the client to appear as a clock counting down to the 48-hour test drive offer. This meant we needed to rig a camera to the roof of the studio so we could shoot straight down.
